President Urges Fair Oil Prices

President Rouhani made the remarks in a meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra on the sidelines of the NAM Summit in Venezuela.

He said, “I hope that through close cooperation and engagement, effective steps will be taken in line with collective interests.”

He noted that Iran and Algeria have always been beside each other under difficult conditions and today after elimination of unjust sanctions conditions are ripe to expedite expansion of bilateral economic relations—an opportunity which should be used.

He hoped that new move will be started to be taken in bilateral economic relations. “Undoubtedly, under present conditions in the region, close cooperation and consultations will be influential in settlement of issues.”

The Algerian Foreign Minister for his part said relations between Iran and Algeria have always been based on independence of states and “we are determined to further expand fraternal ties with Tehran.”

Algeria can be gate of Iran’s presence in African market, he added.
