President: Oil Industry Needs to Be Developed

Addressing a ceremony, marking inauguration of three projects for development of Iranian giant oil fields, President Rouhani thanked for 250,000 to 3000,000 increase in oil output. 

“We hope to reach one to two million barrels oil output a day, which is an accessible goal. “

He also called for using technology for environment protection. 

He noted that the image of the oil region should be the image of mercy and not violence.

Meanwhile, Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zanganeh told the ceremony that following official operation of the three joint fields of North Azadegan, Yadavaran and North Yaran oil fields, Iran’s oil extraction capacity from fields west of Karoun River has reached 300,000 bpd

Zanganeh said Iran’s crude output from fields West of Karoun has risen to 250,000 bpd in the current Iranian administration. 

He announced that oil production from fields west of Karoun had stood at 65,000 bpd before the current government started work in 2013 and reached 45,000 bpd following loss in production of South Azadegan field.
