Baqerzadeh said all activities relating to pre-commissioning of North Yaran field are underway and by Monday, 10 out of 20 wells in the field were operational.
He said by the weekend, 30,000 barrels of crude oil are going to be extracted from joint North Yaran field.
He added that crude oil, obtained from the field, will be sent to Arvandan firm, which runs with the capacity to produce and desalinate 165,000 barrels of crude oil.
North Yaran oil field will undergo development to produce 30,000 barrels of oil a day.
The field lies 130 kms west of Ahvaz near the Iran-Iraq border, in the neighborhood of Hurolhoveizeh pond. It is west of North Azadegan field and north of Yaran Jonoubi field.
Enhanced recovery of joint fields west of Karoon is among the main priorities of the Ministry of Petroleum in the 11th government.
North and South Azadegan, North and South Yaran and Yadavaran fields in Dasht Azadegan region are expected to yield about 1,150,000 barrels per day oil by the next three years.
Oil recovery from joint fields west of Karoon stood at 50,000 barrels per day in the Iranian year 1392 (2013-14) when the current government of Iran took office but presently North Azadegan and Yadavaran fields produce 75,000 barrels per day and 115,000 barrels per day respectively.
