“The desalting capacity of areas operated by this company will increase by 220,000 b/d,” Bijan Alipour, CEO of NISOC, told reporters on the sidelines of Iran Oil Show in Tehran.
He said that NISOC was determined to benefit from the oil show to interact with Iranian and foreign manufacturers.
“NISOC intends to take advantage of this opportunity to help enhance the contribution of domestic and foreign manufacturers so that Iranian manufacturers would move towards commodities of higher quality,” said Alipour.
He underlined the significance of desalting units, saying: “Desalting units are instrumental in boosting capacity for processing salty oil, enhancing the quality of oil, safeguarding oil reserves, avoiding reduction in the refinery feedstock and removing environmental problems by injecting desalting units’ wastes into disposal wells.”
Alipour said that NISOC would operate 110,000 b/d of the capacity of Ahvaz desalting unit by August.
He expressed hope that three more desalting units would become operational before the end of the current calendar year next March in order to compensate for the shortcomings stemming from salty wells.
