Hassan Bahram Nia said full inauguration of the refinery will render Iran needless of gasoline imports which will be pretty instrumental economically.
“Undoubtedly, the startup is a major leap towards production of gasoline domestically,” the MP said.
He further said the project’s inauguration is in line with the requirements of Economic Resilience that has been instructed by Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani officially launched the first phase of a landmark natural gas condensate refinery project in the southern province of Bushehr.
The project adds 12 million liters of Euro-4 gasoline to Iran’s daily production capacity, rendering the country needless if importing gasoline.
Construction of the refinery began in 2006 under the severest sanctions on Iran’s key economic sectors.
Once fully operational, it will supply 36 million liters of quality petrol which makes Iran an exporter of the strategic item.
Besides, it will supply 14 ml/d of gasoil and 3.37ml of jet fuel.
The facility is fed by gas condensate (ultralight crude oil) recovered from the supergiant South Pars Gas Field.
