Kazemi told a group of Petroleum Ministry personnel that Iran will become completely self-sufficient in fully addressing domestic gasoline shortage by March 20, marking end of the current Iranian calendar year of 1395 (started on March 20).
He said once the first phase of the Persian Gulf Star Gas Condensate Refinery comes on stream by end of this year, Iran will become self-sufficient of gasoline imports and once the following phases are complete, the country will be gasoline exporter by September 2017.
The official said major portion of the main equipment of the refinery were imported after the JCPOA and elimination of sanctions but sometimes ago, the distillation unit was put into operation and the refinery’s gasoline production unit equipment were installed.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Kazemi said after 110 years Iran has turned into exporter of the oil products.
Durable export of oil products has reached 500,000 barrels per day and it is predicted that will reach more than 650,000 barrels per day by September 2017, said Kazemi, adding that for the time being, ships are waiting in ports to receive oil products and this is an achievement of the government.
He then said with complete cut of reformate, gasoline euro 4 brand is now produced in the country.
