Reacting to recent media reports about new sanctions on Iran for not endorsing the Paris Agreement, the official said Iran will be among the first countries contributing to reduction of greenhouse emissions.
She said Iran has voluntarily promised to reduce its greenhouse emission by 4% without any conditions and 8% by some conditions.
She said the government cabinet has serious plans for curbing emissions.
“Revision to the pattern of consumption is one of the chief pillars of the Economy of Resistance and there is a national integrity about this issue,” she added.
The Paris Agreement is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) dealing with greenhouse gases emissions mitigation, adaptation and finance starting in the year 2020.
